Will You?
Reflection
In the quiet of the wilderness, Satan approached Jesus with a tempting offer...all the kingdoms of the world, all the glory, all the power... if only He would bow and worship him. It was a moment meant to test loyalty, devotion, and identity. Yet Jesus answered with unwavering truth: "worship belongs to God alone."
We face our own wilderness moments every day. Temptation doesn’t always come dressed as kingdoms; sometimes it looks like comfort, distraction, approval, or worldly success. These subtle pulls try to claim our devotion, our attention, our worship. But this verse reminds us that "exclusivity of worship" is not optional...it is foundational.
To serve God alone means dedicating our time, energy, and purpose to Him above all else. It means rejecting idols, anything that tries to sit on the throne of our hearts. It means recognizing that no other being, power, or idea has the right to claim our worship.
Just as Jesus stood firm in the wilderness, we are called to stand firm in our daily lives, resisting the temptations that test our loyalty to God and His law.
Application
"Serve God alone." - Let your daily choices reflect His purpose, not the world’s pull.
"Reject idols." - Remove anything that competes for your devotion.
"Stay loyal in temptation." - When shortcuts or worldly rewards whisper, answer with Scripture just as Jesus did.
